Plainview Farm :: Perennials :: Teucrium-Trollius :: Thymus
Thymus | TIME-us | Thyme
Whether you are a gardener, a gourmet or a herbalist, this very large group of fragrant, tasty and useful herbs must be of interest to you. Thyme is native to the
dry hillsides of Europe and prefers a dry, lean, rather wind-swept locale here in the United States. Long before the birth of Christ, thyme was used for medicinal and culinary purpose, as well.
Often,we see that this plant has been recommended as the filler between stepping stones for walkways. Although some of the mat-forming varieties may be useed to create a fragrant path, none will sustain heavy foot traffic.
Winter wet is no friend, either. Remember the Med - hot, dry and well-drained.
In short, don't kill these tough little plants with kindness.
