Plainview Farm :: Perennials :: Echinacea-Gypsophila :: Euphorbia
Euphorbia | yew-FORE-bee-ah | Spurge
Euphorbia is a large genus including plants of rather compelling differences. The areas to which they are native are different, as well—you will find them in the tropics and the temperate zones. In New England, we must restrain ourselves and grow a relatively small selection— often the ones best suited to the rockery. The ones we do grow, however, are choice. They grow easily to 18-24" in diameter. The foliage alone will win fans for most varieties. After it is killed in fall, remove it for winter. This good garden hygeine helps prevent rodent damage and disease.
