Beginning in late spring, see the many different varieties of hosta displayed in the various gardens here at the Farm. The hosta plays a major role here and, it is estimated, that over 300 mature varieties are planted. Each year, the new varieties that we source are planted as part of the on-going trials we conduct.
It is wise to protect all hosta from slugs and snails, applying organic or non-organic products early in the season - before the destructive pests appear.
For more information on hosta, see 'Herbaceous Perennial Plants’ by Allen Armitage. |
