We have always taken great pride in growing great plants. We still do. In 2009, however, we took a new path, an unexplored path. We now take pride in growing great fresh food!
Last year, we grew lettuces and tomatoes in our greenhouses. Great tomatoes. Great lettuce. In January, we harvested our first lettuce. It tasted better than any lettuce we had ever eaten. In late June, we harvested our first beefsteak tomato. It tasted fantastic. It reminded Donna of the incredibly flavorful tomatoes her father grew in hot, humid Kentucky when she was a child. We think the extra warmth of the greenhouse produces the extra flavor!
Look here for the fresh produce you can purchase at our shop and at local farmers markets. It's a short trip to North Yarmouth for taste-tested, soil-grown fresh veggies. And, we're at the start of the supply chain — not the end!
