Beginning in 2007, clients in Cumberland asked us to remodel the landscape of their home. Although it was a fairly new landscape, they were unhappy with it and believed it could be improved. We agreed.

Their goals for the property included:

Phase 1: (2007)
1. To install a new foundation planting that would blend with a large berm and function as a privacy screen. The berm needed fewer of some plants and more of others.

2. To screen the pool for privacy.

We recommended a group of plants that would help achieve these goals and they were installed by our crew. Color selection was important to them, so we devised a color palate that pleased them both. We used woody and perennial plants in a naturalistic style.

On the berm, we removed some trees, as well as some perennials that were not appropriate for the site. We were able to transplant this material to other areas on site.

We had suggested that they move a mature tree that was installed too close to the building. We teamed with a local arborist to move this tree safely. It was relocated to a more appropriate location that will allow mature growth to occur properly. Now, it could be viewed and enjoyed from the inside, as well as the outside.

Phase 2: (2008)
1. To screen view from neighbors home. By now, we knew the likes and dislikes of our clients and were able to design and install screening that provided the family with the privacy desired. Again, a combination of woody and perennial plants were used.

Phase 3: (2009)
1. To install more screening for pool

2. To install a patio

3. To install a planting area in the circle bed in front of the house.
