In 2007, we were asked to redesign the foundation plantings at this home in
Cumberland Foreside. The existing plants were unhealthy and not appropriate
for the site. We removed old, misshapen juniper and, invasive burning bush.
As we removed these, we discovered that
a drainage problem existed, causing water to pool and collect, creating an
unsightly muddle.
We corrected the problem by raising the grade of the new garden and thus, protecting the plants from flooding. The puddles also disappeared.
Our client was quite involved with plant selection from the beginning and we were able to use all her favorites. She was open to our ideas and the partnership resulted in a landscape that made both of us happy. Best of all, the project came in on time and within budget.
